Patients tend to want to dissolve their filler if they have had undesirable results, migration of the filler, or lumps. Dermal filler dissolving is also essential should the care complication of a vascular occlusion occur during a filler treatment.

Treatment FAQs:
▼ Will it hurt and how long does it take?
Filler dissolving can be a little stingy. Numbing cream will be used. The appointment is roughly around 45 minutes as a patch test in your forearm is required on the day to make sure your skin doesn’t react to the dissolving enzyme.
▼ Are there any side effects or risks?
As with all treatments there are always risks. As with any injectable treatments, there is a risk of bruising and swelling, which subsides within a few days-weeks. The main risk of dissolving filler with Hyaluronidase is the risk of an allergic reaction. This reaction can be mild but rarely can lead to anaphylaxis. Due to this risk, a patch test is essential to ensure this is not the case. If you are allergic to bee/wasp stings, there is a chance you could also be allergic to hyaluronidase, in which case we would not advise any dermal fillers, due to the risk posed if dissolving was required.
▼ How many sessions?
Sometimes just one session of dissolving can be enough, but in some cases 2-3 sessions may be required.
▼ Can I return to work after?
You will be able to return to your normal daily activities after treatment, but you must follow the aftercare. There will be some degree of swelling and redness. Your skin can appear flatter and wrinkled for a few days post dissolving. This can take 2-3 weeks to resolve.
▼ How do I prepare for the appointment?
Please do not drink alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment. Avoid any laser treatments, chemical peels or microneedling for 2 weeks before and after your treatment. Please try to eat and drink something before your appointment to avoid feeling light headed during the procedure. Please come to your appointment make up free or with minimal make up.
▼ Is there any aftercare advice?
Yes! Please avoid alcohol and exercise for at least 24 hours as it can lead to flushing of the skin, which can, in turn, reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. Avoid rubbing the areas of the face that have been injected for 24 hours - this includes having facials or facial massage. Avoid applying makeup directly to the injection sites for 24 hours. You may apply makeup to the other areas of your face.
